GIS Career Fest: Spring 2009

ASU, Arizona Geographic Information Council (AGIC) and the Arizona chapter of the Geospatial Information and Technology Association (GITAz) are hosting the third annual GIS Career Fest.

The Career Fest will take place in the Turquoise room of ASU’s Memorial Union on Tuesday, March 3rd from 1:00-4:00 pm.

The GIS Career Fest brings together geospatial students and professionals.  Students become acquainted with local GIS/geospatial employers and also with the types of employment associated with these fields.  They are also advised as to which skills are sought and desired by local employers who hire in the field.  After two successful events, we now see a third outcome that benefits many students who attend.  The GIS Career Fest has also become an event where many students are introduced to internships and permanent positions that they begin while they are still finishing their degrees.  Please join us for the 3rd annual GIS Career Fest as a spectator or active participant.

Numerous organizations from state and local government as well as the private sector will be represented at the Career Fest. Each organization will have a table in the banquet hall where they can relate their GIS needs as well as the skills that they are looking for in potential GIS employees.

Students, some past participants have asked that students have resumes or CVs just in case they are necessary.
